I could use a thousand bucks

Two of my sisters somehow got it in their craw that the parents need another dog. But it wasn't good enough to just go to the pound and get some mutt. They couldn't even find anything to their liking locally. Instead they arranged to get a cocker spaniel from a puppy mill in Alberta; a puppy mill with a website on Geocities. (I'm not going to link to them.) After flying it in on Westjet, it's going to end up costing about $1000. And I'm considered the stupid one in this family.
