New 'puter

I finally got a new computer; a 24" iMac. This is the first new machine for me in almost 10 years. (My last PC was rescued from Heather's garbage.) I can't adequately express how nice it is. The second monitor is hooked into both the iMac and my old PC. I have a feeling the old PC won't be of very much though.

Stupid cell phones 2

I got a new cell phone on Virgin Mobile. There was a one day delay transferring my phone number over. They called me to tell me that they mistyped the number from my old phone and to ask for the right one.

The new phone seems pretty OK. Unlike my old one, this one can actually send text messages, and isn't charging me to receive them. It has a crappy camera too. I can also download stupid shit, like wallpaper with buxom blondes for $2.50, and three different strip poker games for only $5.99 each.

Stupid cell phones

Long time, no post. Sorry about that.

My cell phone provider recently started charging for incoming text messages. So far this year I've only received three messages that were actually for me. The rest were spam from the phone company, spam from other assholes, or wrong numbers. I've never been able to send messages; it's always told me that the system wasn't available.

I'm going to try to save up for a new phone on a new provider. I need it to be pre-pay. I'm thinking either Fido or Virgin. I like Fido because they're cheap. I like Virgin because the money loaded on a phone doesn't expire so quickly, and I have a feeling they're less likely to screw me sometime in the future. If anybody has any experience with either of them, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Just another twit....

If you check out the sidebar, you'll see that I've signed up with twitter. I don't know how much I'll use it, but I'm there anyway. Too bad my cell phone doesn't send messages.

"You can reshoot them, right?"

Just as I'm defending them on a vandigicam post, the photo lab calls me up to tell me that an accident has destroyed one of my rolls, including all my 366 shots from the 17th until two days ago. Oh well. I was thinking about quitting anyway. I was getting tired of looking at my face.

Camera Show Stuff......

It's been ages since writing anything here. Not much I've felt like talking about lately I suppose.

I was at the camera show today. I found a Harmony 120 camera with no lens, (perfect for pinhole,) and a Smirnoff M68F camera for $1 each. Also a bag of random 120 and 35mm film for $30. Then I broke down and bought a Pentax K-1000 with a 28mm 2.8 lens. I also got a 50mm 2.0 lens for it. Heather was sweet and bought me some film and a strap for it. I've been hemming and hawing over getting a good film SLR for the last three or four camera shows. K1000's are supposed to be good, simple users. I'm hoping I'll get a lot of service out of this. Too bad I haven't been able to think of anything to photograph lately.

WTF???

So I have this friend I e-mail with. For some strange reason, the e-mail from my yahoo account bounces when sent to her, despite the fact she uses a yahoo account as well. So I e-mail her using my gmail account; an account I only use for spammy things otherwise. Here are the targeted ads for our most recent e-mail conversation about programs we use to chat online.

I've added a photo weblog to my new website. The site is here, and the RSS feed is here. It's just going to be photos and stuff about photography. If I have anything important to say, it will be posted here.
