Unintended movie night

I was supposed to be seeing the Decemberists tonight. But the concert was canceled due to illness. It was a blessing in disguise, because I've been ill as well and I don't think my stuffed up, throbbing head could have taken it.

Instead, I watched the extended version of Peter Jackson's King Kong.

I was actually enjoying the movie up until they went ice skating. "Apes on Ice" was spreading the sap on just a bit too thick. By the end of the movie I was actually rooting for the guys in the planes. Now that's just wrong.

I gotta get my hands on a copy of the original. Or maybe the original remake. Or best of all, the Toho versions. King Kong vs. Godzilla! Woo-hoo!!!
