I went to the camera show in Kerrisdale and I didn't buy a damn thing. There were a few Pentax K1000's that I would have liked, but I just couldn't justify the expense. I didn't see a single toy or trashcam.

I keep punishing myself.
Whoever says Plan 9 from Outer Space is the worst movie ever made obviously hasn't seen 'Manos': The Hands of Fate or Night Train to Mundo Fine.
But I'll give Plan 9 one thing. It has what I consider to be the best line in movie history.
"But one thing's sure. Inspector Clay is dead, murdered, and somebody's responsible."
It makes, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" seem like inane babble.

My taste in music isn't quite that extensive.
I'm looking at my weekly recommendations on Last.fm.
Let's see.
Pink Floyd? OK.
Four Tet? Never heard of him.
Comets on Fire? I know them.
Faust? They've already been recommended to me.
Sonic Youth? Meh, never liked them much.
Zamfir...........
umm.... Zamfir?
ZAMFIR?!?!?!?

eww....
Last night I dreamt that I coughed up a nasty bug, (a roach or beetle or something gross like that,) that had been living inside me for a long time. It crawled away.
I am totally wiped out today. I feel like I've been spinning like a top for the last week. Yesterday was the kicker, being out having fun with friends the entire day. Eating that ginger-desert-sugarrush-OMG-I-CAN'T-STOP-SHAKING!-whatever thing for dinner wasn't such a good idea.
Unfortunately, I'm not feeling very welcome at home lately.

Don't worry, it doesn't hurt.
I was eating some liquorice earlier today. I took a bite and felt a crunching sensation. I broke a big chunk off of one of my back teeth. There's no way I can afford to get it fixed right now.
But no worries. I'm going to win 32 million dollars tomorrow. Then I can get all my teeth fixed.

Three posts in a day. Something must be wrong.
Last night I dreamt that I got rid of all my possessions, including clothes, and stopped talking. I was arrested on a sidewalk, naked, in front of a fire I started from some twigs. I was examined by a psychiatrist and I talked to him, even though I didn't want to. He asked why I got rid of everything, and why I stopped talking. I told him that people and things no longer held any interest for me. He asked why I gave up wearing clothes. I said I didn't want anything made by people, and if I ever got cold I could make a fire from twigs and branches. The psychiatrist told the judge that I was probably the sanest man he'd ever met. Then I was locked away for the rest of my life for being crazy.
I'm almost wondering if this dream was a little prophetic.

oh fucking hell
Dad wants to have "a little talk." For the first time in my life, I'm thankful I have to go to the bike shop.
It's going to be one of those days. I'll let you know if I survive.

umm.... yay!
I got an e-mail from the first woman I ever loved today. She sent a link to a video announcing her engagement. I'm happy for her. It still comes as a shock though.
Hello is easier than goodbye
The last few days have been a crazy whirlwind. Rachael's birthday, Illuminares, Six Organs of Admittance, bike shop crap, and my first ever visit from Lala. Not to mention a slight cold I've had. Sometimes I couldn't tell if I was coming or going.
I've known Lala for just over two years now. It feels like I've known her all my life. I suppose that's kinda weird. But it doesn't feel weird at all. I'm not even sure what it feels like.
I don't know if she got a good impression of Vancouver. We had some asshole pushing his kid in a stroller outside Waterfront Station yell at us because we weren't walking on the sidewalk to his satisfaction. (WTF? It's not like we were in his way.) Then some random crazy in Chinatown started complaining to us because the bank was stealing her money. And going downtown from Metrotown, we were on the last train to get through 29th Avenue Station before it was closed down because someone "fell" on the tracks in front of the train. We saw people looking under the train to find him. The station was still closed down as we were in the taxi going to the airport two hours later. (At least according to the radio.)
Despite all this, I hope she'll come visit again.
I'd like to take a few days to relax and have some alone time. But I have to go to the bike shop tomorrow. I also have twelve rolls to scan and post.
