10/24

A photo project that I took part in last October has finally been posted.

Click here to see the ten/twentyfour project.

The set of just my photos is also posted here.

In other news, I have a slight cold. All sorts of nastiness is going on in my nose and throat. I'm medicating myself, and I hope I'll be able to go to a photowalk, then Illuminares later today.

Something I learnt on Sunday

Jumping into the ocean with all your clothes on is really fun.

A very special place

Yesterday Heather and I went for a drive out to Chilliwack to take some photos. We went into Value Village and found a loaded single use camera for 69 cents and a bunch of slides. I shot the camera in the town. We were also told by my mother to go to Rosedale. But we blinked and missed is as we drove through.

On the way back we drove through (ugh) Langley. We stopped there for dinner at a place called Olive Garden. Heather really wanted to try the place out, so I consented. It was a tolerably good restaurant, but there were two elderly couples at the next table who did their damnedest to ruin the evening. They spent their entire meal sitting and complaining about every little thing. The poor waiter got yelled at every time he came close to the table. "THIS is cold, and THAT is cold!" along with exaggerated pointing. The manager was finally called over, and their meal was given to them on the house including desert. As soon as she was out of earshot, they started laughing loudly and congratulating themselves on the free meal. Then they went back to complaining about Westcoast Express trains that "sit and do nothing," and taxes that "make you wonder why you bother." This made me wonder why they do bother. I'm sure there's a very special place in hell for these people. I feel bad that I didn't actually say something to them. Oh well.

whew.......

I did something that I haven't done in quite awhile. I went for a "short walk" by myself. I started out at Broadway and Commercial, and my walk pretty much ended at 4th and Fir to drop off film. (I did have to walk part of the way home, but that doesn't count.) I managed to finish off rolls in my new Ultronic and my Holga.

I have some photos I could post right now. But I think I could use a nap.

meh.....

I lost my watch last Saturday. It broke off from the clip that held it to my bag. I tried retracing my steps, but I couldn't find it. This kinda sucks because it was a gift from my mom.

I've been feeling really lousy lately; tired and down and uninspired. I feel like hiding in my room and not coming out. Things might pick up though. The opening at the Mooncruise Gallery might be interesting, and not only because of the photos. And at the end of the month my adopted twin sister will be in town. She'll be busy with family, but we should still be able to have a nice visit.

And I got my GST rebate today. Maybe I should go buy a new watch.

I really have to get to the lab.

I have nine rolls of film shot this weekend to drop off.

On Friday there was the insane trip to the Richmond Night Market with Bill, Rachael, Leah, and about 200 obnoxious teenagers all jammed onto one bus. I hope I didn't get VD from the slutty girl squashed up against me. Despite the bad bus experience, it was a fun time.

Saturday was spent wandering around with Heather on a seemingly perfect day. I also got a new camera. A Protax Sharpshooter that I got for $15 at the flea market, new in the box. It's almost, but not quite like this camera.

Sunday was spent going to Langley for a family get together.

And Monday was Heather's birthday. A lot of fun and way too much sushi.

I was a naughty boy as well. I allowed myself to drink some beer the last two days. My hands have gone from somewhat improved to cracking open. I don't believe alcohol causes my hand problems. But it certainly exacerbates the problem.

I'm bushed, but I should go drop off film.
