Facing up to things

Yah, I'm making an ugly face here. This was shot with the Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim that I took on Wednesday. (It's hard to believe this was the first roll I've shot with it since last August.) I was feeling seriously ill most of the day, but went out anyway.

I'm feeling quite a bit better now. Things seem to be sorting themselves out for the best. Now if only I could get a really good night sleep and wake up feeling refreshed.

blah

According to the formula 1/8W+(D-d) 3/8xTQ MxNA, today is the most miserable day of the year. Looking out the window, and feeling the way I do, I'm inclined to believe it.

I've gotten the impression that my friendship is a waste of time to some people. And I'm starting to believe that I really shouldn't give a shit.

Ah well......

Seems my czarf.com website is back online after being out of commission for about a month. (Still no access to my e-mail address there, which has been the case for about six months now.) I thought I'd acknowledge its return by working on a new version of my website. I got it about halfway finished and tried to upload it via ftp. But I wasn't the least bit surprised to find out that uploads are not working. Maybe one of these days.

Happy Birthday!

On this day in 1839, the French Academy of Sciences announced the Daguerreotype photographic process, named after its inventor, Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre. The Daguerreotype was the first commercially viable photographic process.

Happy Birthday Daguerreotype!

In other news, I'm the proud new owner of a Zero 2000 pinhole camera.

Thanks for the sunny day

I've been troubled by a few things lately. I either don't know what to do, or are powerless to do anything about them. It's been effecting my sleep for the past three days, causing me to be tired, grouchy and miserable.

Not being able to sleep, I got out of bed early. I saw blue sky out the window when I got up, but it was replaced by grey skies and slushy snow by the time I was out of the shower. This made me even more depressed for awhile, and I resigned myself to a day of scanning. Thankfully it changed back to clear blue skies just as suddenly, and stayed that way long enough for me to go out and take a dozen photos with my 4x5 pinhole camera. It was nice getting out on my own, just my new iPod for company, doing something to get my mind off everything else. For this I feel grateful. Hopefully the exercise will help me sleep tonight.

Happy New Year

Discoveries of 2006:

Sane girlfriends are awesome.
4x5 film is a pain in the ass, but a worthwhile pain in the ass.
I should have gotten an iPod a lot sooner.
Toe socks are surprisingly comfortable.

Resolution for 2007:

Not to let poisonous assholes effect my relationships with the people I care about.
